Over $1.6 million of recreational marijuana sold in Michigan in first week

According to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, recreational marijuana sales have exceeded $1 million.

LARA said that adult-use sales from December 1 through December 8 brought in $1,629,007.

The state collected a total of $270,414 in excise and sales taxes on recreational marijuana during those first eight days.

Five retail locations in Michigan began selling recreational marijuana during the week of December 1.
