Over 65K fans will watch Notre Dame take on Pitt at Heinz Field

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The equipment truck, players and fans are on their way to Pittsburgh for the Notre Dame- Pitt matchup Saturday.

"I'm from Pittsburgh, and it's always nice to go home during the weekends. It's so convenient that the Pittsburgh/Notre Dame Alumni club has the bus that goes," said St. Mary's student Rachel Wall.

ABC57's coverage begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and the game starts at 8 p.m.

ABC57's Emily Pritchard and Emily Evans arrived in Pittsburgh Friday afternoon.

They checked out Heinz Field, where the game will happen Saturday. The stadium is along the Ohio River and seats 65,500.

The stadium is not only the home of the Pitt Panthers, but also to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers first played at the stadium in 2001 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

This stadium has something Notre Dame fans aren't used to at home. It has a giant 26 by 96 score board-to catch all the excitement.

Pitt fans say there's just nothing quite like a game at Heinz Field.

The 7-2 Irish are hoping to add another win against 4-4 Pitt.
