Overnight News: Man's throat slashed during attack

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a violent assault that happened early this morning. Police say a woman slashed a man's throat just after 2 a.m. on the 1200 block of Portage Avenue Monday morning. No word yet what provoked this attack but police say the man is lucky to be alive.
They say if the cut was any deeper, the man would have died. Child Protective Services had to be called to the house because there was two children inside the house at the time of the attack. The woman was arrested for felony assault. Police will continue to investigate.
