Overseer of The Oaks speaks out about shooting

Officers have arrested 37-year old Rodney Taylor in connection with the shooting at a party early Sunday morning at The Oaks at SouthPaw Farm in the 16000 block of Roosevelt Road in Mishawaka. 

St. Joseph County Police say 4 males were shot at the event.

According to police, three of the victims are recovering from their wounds and don't appear to be in any life threatening danger. 

Officers say the fourth victim fled from an ambulance and wasn't able to be located after an extensive search of the area.

"This is something we've just never experienced before," said Roger Laidig, the chairman of the board that oversees The Oaks at SouthPaw Farm. "We are taking immediate actions to see that nothing like this ever happens again."

The St. Joseph County Police investigation is still underway. Officers ask that anyone with information about the incident please contact Captain Randy Kaps at (574)-235-9569.
