Owner of Chicago Cubs to throw out first pitch at South Bend Cubs playoff game

Tom Ricketts, the Chairman and an owner of the Chicago Cubs, will throw out the first pitch at the September 8 South Bend Cubs playoff game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

"It's great to have Tom in South Bend," commented Andrew T. Berlin, Owner of the South Bend Cubs, in a press release. "I see him a lot in Chicago and even during spring training in Arizona. But we haven't had him here for a game or to witness the amazing support of fans in this region yet. He's going to love South Bend."

"We're excited to host Tom Ricketts for the first time here at Four Winds Field," commented Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs, in a press release. "I know he'll be impressed with the way his players are treated by our operation and also by the fans in this region. This is a Cubs town, and I know that fans will come out to cheer him on when he throws out the first pitch!"

Prior to throwing out the first pitch, Ricketts will be introduced on field by Berlin.

The playoff game, which begins at 7 p.m., will be broadcast 'live' on WMYS, My Michiana, sister station to ABC 57, which is seen over-the-air on channel 69.1 and can be found on Xfinity 15/194HD, U-Verse 69/1069HD, Mediacom 17/717HD, Rochester Telephone Cable 53/353HD as well as Dish 69.
