Paramount South Bend welcomes students for its first school year!

 

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Teachers, staff and students all met bright and early Monday morning for their very first day of school at Paramount!

The school offers a unique approach towards learning, inclusion and behavior. Staff focus on keeping kids focused and engaged and try to avoid having to send anyone out of class for behavioral issues.

While the charter school is new to South Bend, the school corporation already has multiple locations across the state including Indianapolis and Lafayette. Now, it hopes to bring the success those schools have seen up to Michiana!

Paramount has been recognized for its high test scores and overall student academic performance many times.

It was cited as the highest performing Indiana school corporation in 2019 for that year’s I-LEARN Exam. 

It has been recognized as a Top 200 Indiana school providing promising practices for accessibility in STEM education.

The National Equity Index also recognized Paramount for closing the achievement gap, regardless of a family’s income.

The school gives all students a chance to succeed with a quality education, without money being a deciding factor.

In 2021, 78% of Paramount households were at or below the poverty level.
