Parole absconder, passenger arrested after police find suspected drugs in vehicle
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Two people were arrested on Wednesday after police found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in their vehicle, Indiana State Police reported.
At 9:45 a.m., several police departments assisted Michigan Parole authorities with locating 24-year-old Austin Jarman of Niles, who was found in a gray 2021 Toyota at a gas station at the intersection of S.R. 933 and Dreamwold Street in St. Joseph County.
Jarman was wanted on a warrant with nationwide extradition for absconding from parole, according to reports.
Jarman and his passenger, 22-year-old Catherine Wirick of Niles, were both preliminarily arrested for the following:
- Dealing methamphetamine
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Dealing marijuana
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of paraphernalia
Police found approximately seven ounces of suspected methamphetamine, approximately a half pound of suspected marijuana, and paraphernalia in the Toyota, reports said.
Jarman was also jailed on his warrant.
Both were taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
