Parolee arrested on drug charges

HOWARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team arrested a parolee on drug charges following a search of his residence, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.

On Tuesday, detectives conducted a parole check at a home on Huntly Road in Howard Township, along with the Michigan Department of Corrections.

During a search of the residence, deputies say they found heroin and heroin paraphernalia.

The parolee, a 24-year-old man, was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of possession of heroin.

His name is being withheld pending arraignment.
