Pedestrian dies after accident in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind.-- Two people were taken to the hospital after a car hit two pedestrians at the intersection of S.R. 19 and Windsor Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
The streets were closed off for over two hours while police collected evidence.
Two people were struck by a vehicle.
One of the pedestrians was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other was taken to South Bend Memorial Hosptial where the pedestrian died.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in this case.
