Pedestrian hit by alleged drunk driver

ELKHART, Ind. - A pedestrian is believed to be hit by a drunk driver last week, causing serious bodily injury, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office. 

Elkhart County deputies responded to the incident on October 19 at 8:00 p.m., observing a car in a crosswalk and its windshield shattered.

CPR was administered for the pedestrian, 33-year-old Flor Valdez Salazar, who was found in the crosswalk and then transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver, 56-year-old Scott Minne, was given three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

He was arrested and booked in the county jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated resulting in a bodily injury, a Level 5 felony.
