Police identify pedestrian killed in crash on Lincoln Way West

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—Police are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that happened Saturday night on Lincoln Way West and Kentucky Street.

Officers were called to the scene around 11:42 p.m. Saturday.

Initial investigation findings show a pedestrian was crossing Lincoln Way West when he fell, according to the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT).

When the pedestrian was attempting to get back up, he was hit by a Chevy Tahoe, reports said.

The pedestrian, identified as 48-year-old Michael Adkins of South Bend, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FACT.

The driver of the Tahoe is cooperating with investigators and was not injured in the crash, according to police.
