Pedestrian killed by semi on I-94

Indiana State Police say a North Judson man was killed on I-94 when he was struck by a semi while walking on the interstate.

The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday evening in the westbound lanes near Ripley Street in Lake Station.

The semi driver told troopers he struck an unknown object.

A man's body was found on the shoulder of the road in dark clothing, according to police.

The man, 35-year-old Nicholas Ryan Webb, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no disabled vehicle was located in the area and they do not know why he was walking on the interstate or where he was headed.
