Pedestrian killed in crash on US 12 identified

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pedestrian who was killed in a crash on US 12 Thursday morning.
Deputies said a driver was westbound on US 12 when her vehicle collided with 68-year-old Edward Nienow who was walking across the street near the intersection of US 12 and Union Road.
Nienow died at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
