MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Michigan City Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday morning on US 12.

When officers arrived to the 2000 block of US 12 around 6:30 a.m., they located a pedestrian lying in the road. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said the victim appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle did not stop following the crash.
