Pedestrian sent to hospital after being struck at Lincoln Way and Laing Avenue

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police and Fire Departments were called to the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Laing Avenue around 4 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of a car striking a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

"An adult female was crossing Laing when she was struck by a vehicle. The female suffered an injury to her left leg," MPD said. "The severity is not known. Although she was conscious and alert."

Police say she was transported to a local hospital for treatment and that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
