Penn High School suspends football practices

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation says that they are indefinitely suspending high school football practices following a positive COVID-19 test from one of the student-athletes.

A student-athlete tested positive for coronavirus on August 6 after exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19 and visiting a physician.

The student and everyone who came in contact with them are quarantining as a precautionary measure.

Although the superintendent knew of the positive test Thursday night, the School Board were not notified of it and optional football activities went on as planned Friday morning.

The Corporation says that they will begin reviewing their guidelines, procedures, and decisions for conducting team activities.
