Feeling like spring, this weekend
Just one win away from a trip to the state finals in Indianapolis, both Penn and Marian football took the field in their respective classes for semi-state.
In 6A, Penn met Carmel for the fifth consecutive year. The Kingsmen went on the road and picked up a 34-7 victory to punch their ticket to another state title game. It's the second championship game appearance for the Kingsmen in three years.
In 3A, Marian fell in a weather-delayed game. The Knights were bested by Brebeuf Jesuit from Indianapolis, 17-0.
