Pennsylvania seniors not allowed to go to prom

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. -- Seniors in Pennsylvania are being told they cannot go to prom or graduation if they have not had the chicken pox vaccine.

Over 30 students at the high school never got the vaccine.

The school district says a student has the disease so students who are not vaccinated are at risk.

If students get a blood test proving immunity or get the shot before Sunday then they can go to prom or graduate.

"I went to the health clinic and got blood tests done to show they are immune to it or they've been subjected it to in some way. Which takes 48 hours to 4 days to get those back," said Lisa Grudowski, parent.

Unfortunately, those results will not be back in time and those students will not be able to go to their prom.
