SOUTH BEND, Ind.— St. Joseph County Metro Homicide is investigating after a man was found dead in South Bend early Friday morning.
Police were called to the 1600 block of S. Marine Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a shots fired and a car crash.
Officers at the scene found that a car had crashed into a tree and a man found inside of the car who was unresponsive, police said.
The victim was also found to have apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the victim as Jeremiah Parker, 19. Parker’s autopsy is scheduled for July 6 in Fort Wayne.
St. Joseph County Metro Homicide was brought in to investigate.
Police at the scene said the driver was not in the car when they arrived.
Multiple witnesses were interviewed but police said no arrests have been made.
