Person killed in crash on Beech Road in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- St. Joseph County police say a person was killed in a crash Tuesday evening.

Investigators say the crash happened just after 8 p.m. on the 6300 block of Beech Road.

Officers say a pickup truck left the road and rolled over several times. They say the driver had been thrown out of the vehicle and died at the scene.

The person's name has not yet been released. But police say he is a 24-year-old male from Wakarusa. Police will not release his name until his family has been notified.

CORRECTION: ABC57 was initially told by St. Joseph County Police the victim died as a result of the extremely cold weather. Later we were informed the weather only likely played a role in the crash, but didn't cause the victim's death.
