Philadelphia kidnapping attempt caught on tape

PHILADELPHIA -- It's every parent's worst nightmare, and this one was caught on camera.

You can see it happening in this chilling video. A man tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in broad daylight. As he snatched her off the street, he dropped her, then ran off.

The surveillance also shows the man stalking the girl and her little brother as they walked home.

After the video was released, the suspect turned himself into authorities.

The kids' mother is stunned.

"The world's a crazy place. There's crazy people. I can't explain why this man did what he did. Why he did it with my daughter, you know, especially when she was walking with her brother.  I mean, it was real daring of him in the middle of the day," she said.

The 33-year-old was charged with a series of felony and misdemeanor charges, including attempted kidnapping and unlawful restraint.
