A new Michigan law now allows patients to visit a physical therapist without a doctor's referral.
Usually a patient must first see a doctor, who then sends that patient to physical therapy, but now the Direct Consumer Access Bill has changed that.
This bill allows patients to go right to the physical therapist without seeing the doctor first.
Michigan is now the 50th state to pass a law like this.
It goes into effect January 1st.
