Pizza rush: Papa John's serves up pre-Thanksgiving pies

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It's not just electronics that are hot this time of year!

The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of the year for pizza workers.

Those at Papa John's said that Wednesday evening will be one to remember because it is such a big night for sales.

With so much on the line for at-home cooking on Thursday, it is a common tradition for cooks in the family to take a break the night before.

"People are expecting all of their families to come into town. They are all getting together, and they already have their turkeys, adn their vegetabnles, and their stuffing.  You know, its already to go, and so pizza is easy.  You can order pizza and Mom doesn't have to worry about it, and the kids love it.  it's an easy one," said Claudia Cochran, General Manager of Papa John's store.

Papa John's is expected to make up to 1,000 pizzas Wednesday night.
