Pleasant start to weekend; some stronger storms Saturday evening

If you plan to get outside during our holiday weekend, Saturday morning and afternoon may be the best time. The rest of the weekend, weather is a little more unsettled with rain and scattered thunderstorms.

We are starting Saturday morning with a bit of fog, but that should clear as the sun rises. Skies will be partly cloudy to partly sunny this afternoon. Temperatures warm to the 80s (the first time in 2020).

It should stay dry until this evening. Thunderstorms and rain are both likely tonight.

A few of these storms may be strong, with the biggest threats being heavy rain and gusty winds. Confidence in severe weather is currently low for tonight, but is not out of the question. Over half an inch of rain is possible by early Sunday morning.

A few isolated storms are possible early Sunday, then part of the morning and early afternoon will be dry. More scattered thunderstorms are likely Sunday evening. Temperatures will remain in the 80s on Sunday.

The week has more storms in store Monday through Wednesday. Temperatures should stay in the mid 80s each of these days.

Today: Partly sunny to partly cloudy. PM thunderstorms and rain. High 80.

Tonight: Scattered storms. Low 66.

Sunday: Scattered afternoon storms. High 84.

Memorial Day: Scattered thunderstorms. High 85.
