Plymouth names new Chief of Police

PLYMOUTH, Ind. - Plymouth Mayor Robert Listenberger named John Weir as the Plymouth Police Department’s new Chief of Police.

Weir, a veteran officer with the department, will officially start the position on February 1.

Before joining the department in 1999, Weir joined the Army Reserve in 1988 and served in Operation Desert Shield – Storm in 1990 and 1991.

He was a member of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department from 2000 to 2005 and has served as Vice President of the Plymouth F.O.P since 2005.
