Police and medical staff team up to prepare for potential situations

Emergency Medical Technicians, police officers, firefighters, even doctors from all across Michiana were in attendance Friday afternoon to learn about active shooting situations.

They examined many active shooting situations around the country and learned tactics and strategies to best solve these kinds of problems.

The instructing staff are highly skilled risks management teams from Illinois.

One leader said that sometimes it takes a meeting of the minds to really improve the quality of these departments.

"What is the best thing we can do to eliminate and or mitigate some of these problems in these situations and the more we can work together, the more we can sit at the same table, the more we can talk through some of our operational issues, the better it’s going to be and the better response we're going to have,” said Edward Mohn, CEO of High Risks Operations and Strategies.
