Police arrest man following report of shots fired on Franklin Street
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- A man was arrested after police were dispatched to Franklin Street to investigate reports of shots fired, according to the Michigan City Police Department.
Monday around 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 5800 block of Franklin Street for a report of shots fired.
When they arrived, officers and deputies with the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office canvassed the area and began speaking with witnesses.
Officers learned the suspect was a man wearing a red, white and blue jacket. As officers continued their investigation, they located a man who matched the description of the shooter, along with evidence related to the crime, police said.
Floyd Doshi, 39, was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness and possession of a handgun without a license.
