Police arrest suspect in burglary at home on Hudson Street

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police arrested one of the suspects in a home burglary that happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 1400 block of Hudson Street.

The victim told police she answered her front door and she saw two men dressed in black. She told police she recognized one of the men.

The men pushed their way past the victim and into her home.

Once inside, the suspects pulled guns, threatened the victim and demanded money, according to police.

The victim ran from the home and called police.

The suspects left the home after ransacking it, police said.

Officers searched the area and located one of the suspects in the 600 block of W. Marion Street.

The suspect, 19-year-old Jacob Sims, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement with a deadly weapon.
