Police arrest suspect in hit and run involving bicyclist

South Bend Police have arrested a driver who allegedly hit a bicyclist, fled the scene, then hit a utility pole early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the 700 block of W. Oak after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole around 3:20 a.m.

The driver, 38-year-old Daniel Hermosillo, was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Police also found a male victim in the 800 block of Colfax. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is stable.

Hermosillo was taken into custody after he was released from the hospital.
