Police chase results in broken stoplight on South Bend's west side

SOUTH BEND — An early morning chase has landed a South Bend man behind bars.
The chase happened on the city's west side around 1:45 Friday morning.
The chase ended near the intersection of Dundee Street and Western Avenue.
Police say the drive hit the stoplight and a gas meter there, causing a gas leak.
Crews were able to contain the leak.
The intersection is now a 4-way stop because of the broken light.
