Police dispatched to shooting in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. -- At 12:01 p.m. on Saturday, Goshen Police responded to a call made to the 800 block of South 11th Street regarding a physical altercation.

En route to the scene, Elkhart County Dispatch informed them that one of these individuals had been shot in the chest.

Upon arrival, a 45-year-old Goshen resident was found with a gunshot wound to his left chest area. Officers received the suspect, whose name is withheld due to a pending investigation, and was cooperative with the police.

Officials say this was an isolated incident with no greater threat present to the rest of the local community.

The victim is currently under treatment for his wound and is noted as being in stable condition. The investigation is now underway.
