Police: Herd of deer causes 17-year-old driver to hit highway sign

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind.—A herd of deer caused a driver to crash his car on August 25, according to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department.

A 17-year-old driver from Middlebury was driving a 2009 Chevy Malibu southbound on State Road 3 around 9:21 p.m., south of CR 400 N when he said a herd of deer in the road caused him to drive off the road in order to avoid, according to reports.

The Malibu struck a state highway sign and then returned to the road.

The driver complained of head and neck pain and pain to the right knee. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
