Police identify man found deceased in Tippecanoe River

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police released the name of the man who was found deceased in the Tippecanoe River on Wednesday.

The Kosciusko County Coroner identified the man as 65-year-old Tomas Schmeltz of Bourbon.

His preliminary cause of death was drowning, according to the coroner.

His manner of death was not released.
