Police identify moped driver killed in accident in St. Joseph, Michigan

The moped driver killed in an accident Sunday in St. Joseph, Michigan has been identified.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Tim MacDonald.

The St Joseph Public Safety Department says MacDonald was driving his moped westbound on Pearl Street approaching Main Street just before noon on Sunday.

He swerved to avoid a collision with one southbound vehicle but fell off his moped.

A second southbound vehicle then struck MacDonald.

MacDonald died at the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
