Police identify mother, son injured in accident in Berrien Springs

The Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police have released new details in the accident in Berrien Springs that injured a woman and her 4-year-old son Wednesday evening.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cass and Ferry streets in Berrien Springs.

Stephanie McLaughlin and her 4 year old son, Duane McLaughlin were crossing the street when they were struck by a pickup truck driven by Jeremy Bowie, according to police.

Stephanie sustained serious head injuries and was taken by helicopter to the hospital.

Her son, Duane, suffered minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Stephanie remains hospitalized and is stable.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
