Elkhart Police were notified of the Franklin Street robbery at 9:06 a.m. Responding officers apprehended Hunter at 9:12 a.m.
A warrant was issued for Hunter on Monday for an incident that took place last year in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility’s medical ward.
On March 3, 2023, Hunter allegedly used a metal rod from his wheelchair to stab another inmate in the head and neck, leaving a quarter-inch laceration and four-inch abrasion on the victim’s head.
