Police identify suspect in fatal hit and run

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Police say a Crime Stoppers tip led them to the suspect in Monday night's fatal hit and run at 933 and Auten Road in South Bend. The 17-year-old suspect was allowed to turn himself in to Mishawaka Police Tuesday night.

Monday night, St. Joseph County Police said a person driving a red truck struck and killed 43-year-old Michael Marks. The driver of the truck stopped after the accident.

David Fordyce, 49, also stopped to help direct traffic away from Marks' body.

Fordyce was struck and killed by a vehicle police identified as an arcadia green 1992 Honda Civic.

A Crime Stoppers tip led police to the 17-year-old in Niles.

The 17-year-old has been identified as Joshua Anglemyer.

The Honda was towed and the teen was allowed to go with his parents to turn himself in to Mishawaka Police.

On Wednesday, the juvenile probation department requested detention and the prosecutor's office filed a delinquency petition in juvenile court against Anglemyer, alleging he committed an act, which if committed by an adult would be a felony.

"We do have a juvenile being detained at this time," said Lieutenant Tim Williams of the Mishawaka Police Department.
