Police identify teen killed in accident on I-75

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. -- A teenage girl who died in car accident has been identified.

Police say that Amanda James, 15, or Riverview was on her way home from a fireworks show on Wednesday when the car she was in lost control and hit the median on I-75.

Police say the driver was trying to go around semi.

James was thrown from the car and then hit by another vehicle.

Police also say she was not wearing her seat belt and died at the scene.

Three other passengers suffered minor injuries.
