Police investigate shooting in South Bend on Monday

SOUTH BEND. Ind. – The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Monday evening.

Around 5:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Kenwood Ave to respond to shots fired.

ShotSpotter activation and many calls reported that they had heard multiple shots in the area.

At first, a victim was not readily located but police found evidence that someone was injured.

Later, officers were notified about a 15 year-old female who went to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg.
