Police investigate shooting in South Bend that left one man injured

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that happened on Monday afternoon. 

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Walnut Street, around 2 p.m., after ShotSpotter was activated and citizens reported hearing shots. 

Officers arrived on scene at the same time they were informed of a shooting victim arriving at the hospital.

The walk-in shooting victim was described as a 20-year-old male with a wound to his upper body. 

The man has been treated for his injuries and police continue to investigate the shooting.
