Police investigating armed robbery at Citgo

The La Porte Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Citgo station that happened early Saturday morning.

Police said they were called to the Citgo at 104 E. Lincolnway at approximately 12:35 a.m. Saturday after the store was robbed.

The clerk told police the suspect entered the business with a handgun and demanded cash.

After the suspect got the money, he grabbed several packages of cigarettes and left the store.

The suspect was described as a black male with a thin build. He was wearing a face mask and a ball cap.

Police said he was last seen running south towards E. Jefferson Avenue.

No injuries were reported.
