Police investigating attempted abduction of 14-year-old girl
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl while she was walking to her bus stop Monday morning, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.
The girl was walking towards Main Street and Hull Avenue when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male.
The victim fought him off and the suspect ran eastbound from the scene.
The suspect is approximately 5'9" tall and weighs 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue or black sweatshirt with a Nike emblem.
During the investigation, officers learned the suspect was also seen in the same area on Friday wearing the same clothing.
The department is asking parents be vigilant and walk children to their bus stops.
