Police investigating deadly crash that killed motorcyclist

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened just after midnight Saturday morning.

The crash happened on M 205 near Cassopolis Street in Mason Township around 12:26 a.m.

Police say 22-year-old Daimon Leader of Elkhart was driving a motorcycle on M-205 when he was struck by a Pick-up truck turning onto Cassopolis Road.

21-year-old Bradley Wiswell of Elkhart was driving the pick-up truck at the time of the crash.

Leader was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiswell was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries.

Police say helmets and seatbelts were used at the time of the crash.

Police say it is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in the crash and the crash remains under investigation.
