Police investigating deadly shooting in Benton Township

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., --- A homicide investigation is underway in Benton Township after a man was shot and killed at housing complex.

Investigators say they were called out to Berrien Homes Housing Complex just after 2:40 am Sunday morning for a shooting.

They found a man, 30-year-old Toma Turner of Benton Harbor, laying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

Life saving measures were performed, but Turner died from his injuries.

Police believe Turner and the suspect got into an argument before shots rang out.

The suspect is described as a skinny black male, also in his 30's, who was last seen around Berrien Homes on foot.
