Police investigating head-on crash in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. --- Police are investigating a two car crash in Silver Creek Township.

First responders arrived on scene around 2:53 p.m. on Sunday, when they found two cars involved in a head-on crash, police said.

Police said the initial investigation shows the first car was driven by Cameron Chester Needham, 20, of Coloma. Needham was driving northbound on M-51 North when he hit a patch of ice and lost control, according to police. The driver of the second car, Terry Dean Raab, 66, of Dowagiac, was driving southbound, when he also hit a patch of ice and lost control, police said.

Raab was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Police said seat belts were worn and airbags were used. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role.
