Police investigating robbery of Family Dollar store

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Benton Township Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Family Dollar store on Wednesday evening.

Police were called to the Family Dollar on M 139 around 8:50 p.m. for reports of an armed robbery.

Employees told police a man entered the store, pointed a gun at one of the employees and demanded money.

The suspect fired a shot during the robbery, but no one was injured.

The suspect then fled the store.

A K9 was called to assist in tracking the suspect, but the suspect was not located.
