SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police officers are investigating two shootings that have sent two people to the hospital, one with life threatening injuries.
Police say they were called to the area near Arthur and Bissell streets around 7:07 p.m. Officers found a car crash and a shooting victim but say the shooting did not happen at that location. The victim is a 22-year-old man and has been taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were called at 7:26 p.m. to reports of a second shooting on Cedar Street. One male victim was found at the scene with life-threatening injuries and has been transported to Memorial Hospital. The 17-year-old victim went into emergency surgery but is expected to be okay.
South Bend Police confirmed that there are two possible leads for the suspects.
Police are still working to find if these two shootings are related. An investigation is ongoing.
