Police investigating shooting that happened in South Bend Tuesday evening

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are still investigating a shooting that happened in the 400 block of Illinois Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers were dispatched to the area for reports of a 51-year-old man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police have learned the shooting happened elsewhere, but the exact location remains under investigation.
