Police investigating stranger danger, robbery

ELKHART, Ind. -- A man who was armed with a knife forced a 12-year-old to walk away from a home on Jefferson Boulevard, then robbed the victim, according to Elkhart Police.

Police were called to the 300 block of W. Jefferson at 10:41 p.m. on Friday for a possible child abduction.

When police arrived, they learned the victim, a 12-year-old, was in the yard of the residence when the suspect approached him, displayed a knife and demanded the victim walk with him, reports said.

After walking a few blocks, the suspect demanded the victim's waist-pack, which contained a phone and cash.

The suspect then fled the area.

The suspect has been described as a white male, 5'10" tall, average build, wearing blue jeans and a gray tank top.
