Police investigating two car crash in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. --- Cass County Police are investigating a two-vehicle personal injury crash on Redfield St. that happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Initial investigation shows that a White Pigeon resident was traveling east on Redfield St. when he lost control of his car due to a patch of ice, police said. His vehicle turned sideways and went into the westbound lane of traffic, where he was hit by a car traveling west, according to police.

The White Pigeon man was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the westbound vehicle was evaluated by SMCAS emergency medical personnel and family chose to transport him to the hospital.

Police said seatbelts were worn and airbags were deployed. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
